NCHS Magnet

Admissions into our program, as with any magnet, is highly competitive. We encourage 8th graders with excellent achievement and high motivation to apply. All applications for rising 9th graders are handled online, through the online portal, which opens in October.

Our admissions decisions are based on a combination of ITBS test scores (or equivalent), middle school grades, teacher recommendations, an essay, admissions panel reviews, and our Magnet Admissions Exam, which we provide to students who have scored in the 50th% or higher in every sub-category of the ITBS (or equivalent).
