for International Studies equips students with the skills and knowledge to lead in a competitive, globalized world.
We believe that globally competent students should…
1. Understand global economic, social, and diplomatic relations;
2. Function effectively in diverse work and social environments;
3. Understand how their skills and knowledge play an international role.
North Cobb Students will...
1. Complete rigorous, advanced coursework;
2. Attain competency in at least one foreign language;
3. Engage in service learning, and leadership;
4. Communicate with different cultures, through travel and/or technology
5. Address the major scientific, political, and economic challenges and opportunities accompanying globalization;
6. Conduct and present internationally pertinent research.
Requirements…
1. Complete 50% of the College-prep curriculum at the Advanced Placement, Honors, or Gifted Level
2. Complete 4 years of foreign language (at least three in one language)
3. Complete Magnet Core
4. Maintain a 3.0 overall GPA
5. Complete a minimum of 15 hours of community service each year and participate in multi-cultural and/or internationally significant events offered in the Atlanta-area.
6. Participate in academic and athletic extracurricular activities
7. Complete and present a senior research project
