Global Focused Core Curriculum

 

Magnet Core

All Magnet students must complete the Core Curriculum.
*designates a course that is for magnet students only


9th Grade

  • Freshman Social Studies Bundle:  Honors American Government/Magnet Leadership paired with AP Human Geography (A/B schedule—alternating days, all year long.

  • 9th grade Literature.

  • Magnet Biology

  • Foreign Language

  • Math (based on placement)

10th Grade

  • AP World History.

  • Honors Chemistry.

  • Magnet American Literature

  • Foreign Language

  • Math

11th Grade

  • Advanced Scientific Research

  • Junior Humanities Bundle:  AP US History paired with AP Language (AB schedule)
    or Honors US History and Honors British Literature British Literature

    Note: if the honors classes are chosen in place of the AP Bundle, students will
                be expected to take two AP level science or mathematics courses instead.

  • Honors Physics

  • Math (preferably AP Statistics)

  • Foreign Language

12th Grade

  • Senior Capstone-AP Comparative Government and Politics paired with /AP Macroeconomics
    AP Literature or Honors British Literature

  • Additional science course (AP level)

  • Additional social studies course (AP level)

  • Math (preferably AP Calculus)

  • Foreign Language

Students are encouraged to choose an area of focus:
